Who can be involved?
Though TeenStreet Australia will be held in Sydney for it’s Aussie launch in 2010, people from across the continent are welcome to come and join the experience. Buses and trains are convenient from Brisbane and Melbourne, and this is a perfect excuse to gather a group for a roadtrip to Sydney!
You may be too old to attend TeenStreet as a teenager, but you’re never too old to be involved. We need several dozen people sharing their gifts and skills to make TeenStreet the impacting event that it has proven to be. There are various ways for people of different backgrounds and abilities to help serve the TeenStreet participants… and you’ll still have opportunities to join in the main programme as well, so you won’t miss out. Nomatter how you are engaged in TeenStreet, you are sure to make new friends, have fun and be challenged to grow!
Teens
Teens are at the heart of TeenStreet. We exist to motivate and equip you to have a real friendship with Jesus and reflect Him daily in your world. Bring your youth group or grab a few friends and come face to face with Jesus, experience growing with people who want to support you in this jungle of life, and savour a week of worship, tasty food, conversation, new friends and craziness at TeenStreet 2010. More about coming as a Teen
Coaches
Teenagers need a caring adult as a friend, example, authority figure and challenge giver. The Coach is responsible for the teens in each NET group, which consists of six teenagers and one adult leader (Coach) of the same sex.
Coaches are responsible for leading the NET times, interacting with their NET group, keeping their teens accountable, spending personal time with each teen and being a friend. (Coaches must be between 21 and 121 years old… yes, we really do want mature people with life experience as well as the young, spunky folks.) More about coming as a leader
Coach Support (M&M)
There will be one M&M (Ministry & Management) couple for every seven coaches. The M&M couple consists of one man and one woman (they do not have to be married).
Their role is to minister to, manage and support the Coaches under their care, meeting daily with their Coaches. M&M couples will also be available to supervise or counsel the Coaches and teenagers who are in their teams. More about coming as a leader
Service Team
TeenStreet could not happen without several dozen volunteers serving in various roles for the event. Consider being a part of TeenStreet (and making some great new friends) by joining in one of these teams: Cleaning, Cooking, Prayer, Maintenance, Sports, Security, Dance/Drama, Decor, Audio/Visual Tech or Counselling. Service Team members must be 18+ and love Jesus and want to see teenagers grow in their friendship with Jesus and reflect him daily in their world. Contact us to register your interest and find out more. More about coming to help out
Support Roles
Servant hearted people are required as Regional Representatives and Service Team Supervisors. You can find out more or express your interest by emailing us.
TeenStreet Partners
TeenStreet is seeking to partner with various organisations to motivate and equip Christian teens. Especially in an area called ‘The Village’, OM and other organisations will be ‘opening windows’ on some of the needs around the world. If you would like to be part of this, please read on.
